The State Veterinary and Biosecurity Service of Ukraine has banned the imports of meat products from Nicaragua, Uruguay and Israel.
According to service resolution No. 15-2-23/8672 of October 6, 2011, imports of poultry and products made of poultry have been banned from Nicaragua, as an outbreak of Newcastle disease has been recorded in the country.
The service also banned the import of animals susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease and products made of them from Uruguay, as an outbreak of the disease in cattle has been registered in the country (resolution No. 15-2-23/8674 of October 6, 2011)
With its resolution No. 15-2-23/8676 of October 6, 2011 the service also banned the import of animals susceptible to cattle-plague (and products made of them) from Israel, as an outbreak of plague in small ruminant animals has been recorded in the country.
The said products, which are monitored by the veterinary service, are to be imported in line with veterinary requirements regarding imports to countries with state veterinary and sanitary supervision.
