Ukraine. Verkhovna Rada to zero import duty on some products
The Ukrainian Parliament has refused to set a zero rate of duty on some products having failed to back the Cabinet bill on amending the law on Ukraine's customs tariff.
The Cabinet had explained that the bill was necessary to ensure Ukraine's food security and prevent price hike for some types of grain crops and socially important foodstuff.
Under the instrument, it was planned to zero till June 1, 2011 an import duty on milk and cream in powder, granules and other solid forms; butter; potatoes; rye and buckwheat.
