Ukraine to resow nearly 4% of winter crops sowings areas
As of March 18 of the current year, Ukraine will resow nearly 0.34 mln ha of agricultural crops areas, which totaled nearly 4% of winter grain sowing areas, informed the press-cutting service of Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.
According to the announcement, winter grains perished throughout 2.2% of the planned sowing areas or nearly 0.2 mln ha. At the same time, winter grains sowings in Ukraine showed good and satisfactory conditions throughout 86.5% of the general sowing areas, or 7.23 mln ha.
Ice over occupied nearly 0.76 mln ha of winter grain sowings in Ukraine, or 8.8% of winter crops sowings.
Also, the Ministry declared that as of March 18, 2.2% of winter wheat sowings perished (0.15 mln ha), 41.4% of the grain sowings showed good condition indices (2.7 mln ha), 45.6% - satisfactory condition (nearly 3 mln ha), 10% of winter wheat sowings faced ice covering or waterlogging (0.66 mln ha). Agrarians plan to resow 3.7 mln ha of winter wheat sowings (0.25 mln ha).
As of March 18, 10% of winter rapeseed sowings showed ice covering and waterlogging conditions (0.11 mln ha), 41.4% of winter rapeseed sowings showed good condition (2.7 mln ha), satisfactory condition – 45.6% (nearly 3 mln ha). According to forecasts of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, agrarians plan to resow 17.1% of winter rapeseed sowings, or 0.24 mln ha.
