Ukraine to keep sunflower oil production at the last season level
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine forecasts sunflower oil production in 2010/11 marketing year (MY, September – August) at the level of the last MY volumes, declared Sergey Melnik, the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy, on September 21.
According to him, Ukraine will also keep sunflower oil export volumes at the level of 2009/10 MY.
The Association "Ukroliyaprom" informed that according to preliminary data, in 2009/10 MY Ukraine produced 2.94 mln tonnes of sunflower oil as opposed to 2.5 mln tonnes in the previous MY, and exported 2.47 mln tonnes of the product against 2.1 mln tonnes, respectively.
According to estimations of various experts, Ukraine takes the leading place in the world in the rate of countries-exporters of sunflower oil.
