Ukraine supplied the record volume of sunflower oil on foreign markets
During three months of 2009/10 MY, Ukraine supplied 555 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil on foreign markets, an increase of 43% compared to the same index of 2008/09 MY, and broke the record of the reporting period.
According to official data of the customs statistics, in November, Ukraine exported 181 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil, a decrease of 7% compared to October index, but up 11% compared to the export volumes in November 2008. Besides, the export volumes became the record index for November period.
According to "Ukroliyaprom" data, in the current MY, sunflower oil export volumes are expected at the previous year level of nearly 2.1 mln tonnes. The country will reach such results only in the terms of the absence of administrative influence on the fat-and-oil industry from the government, marked the association.
In the current marketing year, Ukraine will also increase production volumes of sunflower oil by 4% compared to the previous MY, to 2.6 mln tonnes. In 2008/09 MY, Ukraine produced the record volume of 2.5 mln tonnes of sunflower oil and exported nearly 2.1 mln tonnes.
According to data of the association, in 2009/10 MY, sunflower seed exports will total nearly 700 thsd tonnes as opposed to 767 thsd tonnes last MY.
