Ukraine. Sunflower seeds purchase price 83% up
The average weighted purchase price for sunflower seeds in Ukraine made up 3,810 UAH/ton as of October 15, 2010, 83% up against the same date of the previous year (2,084 UAH/ton, USD 1/UAH 7.91), the Agriculture Ministry press service informs.
A 7% growth of prices for oil-bearing cultures was observed against the previous week prices. Over a month, sunflower seeds rose in price by 22%.
According to the ministry statement, the minimum price for sunflower seeds as of the reporting date made up 3,200 UAH/ton, the maximum - 4,100 UAH/ton.
In addition, as of October 15, the soya price was 3,132 UAH/ton. The minimum and maximum prices made up 3,000 UAH/ton and 3,250 UAH/ton respectively. Against the previous year, soya rose in price by 18% (in 2009 its price was 2,658 UAH/ton). Against September 15, the soya price increased by 5%.
The average weighted purchase price for rape amounts to 3,655 UAH/ton (the minimum price is 3,390 UAH/ton, the maximum price - 4,000 UAH/ton). At the same time, against the previous year, the price for this culture rose by 32%.
