Ukraine: sowing campaign to delay
The sowing campaign in Ukraine is being delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions, declared Sergey Melnik, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.
According to him, in the current year, due to the weather conditions, the country had to postpone the large-scale volumes of work. To date, only the Crimea nearly completed the sowing campaign of early spring crops. At the same time, other regions of Ukraine still did not have any possibility to start field works and provide the additional fertilizing.
Besides, last year in the same period of time, agrarians sowed 600 thsd ha of early spring crops, marked S.Melnik. In the current spring period, the country needs to sow 15-15.9 mln ha of spring crops.
