Ukraine seaports’ throughput up 3% in Q1, to 26.66m tons
Cargo turnover at commercial seaports of Ukraine in January-March 2010 rose by 3.3% from the same period a year earlier, to 26.66 million tons, Ukrrudprom reports citing the Sea and River Transport Authority.
In Q1, 2010 Odessa Commercial Sea Port had a 6.2-percent drop, to 6.899 million tons, Yuzhny Port showed a slight 0.9% gain, 4.72 million tons, Mariupol CSP handled 2.696m tons, a 36.1% spike over Q1, 2009.
An earlier report said of Illychevsk Port’s 1.8-percent gain, at 4.38m tons.
In 2009 the country’s state-run 18 seaports reported a year-over-year 17% cutback, at 109.720.000 tons.
