Ukraine. Realization of grain crops down
Grain crops realization in Ukraine as of March 1, 2010, made up 1.52 million tons, 56% less against previous year indexes over the same period, the State Statistics Committee informed.
Total realization of agricultural products by agricultural enterprises over January-February against the first two months of 2009 dropped by 21%, including plant products - by 44%, and animal products - increased by 9%.
In particular, wheat was realized to the amount of 660,000 tons (63% less), barley - 217,500 tons (36% less), corn - 494,800 tons (57% less). Realization of sunflower seeds made up 329,800 tons, 23% less against the previous year, soya - 37,100 tons (29% less), rape - 9,900 tons (64% less). Only rye realization increased to 68,700 tons, 139% up against 2009 index.
Average selling prices for agricultural products by agricultural enterprises in Ukraine, in all directions over January-February 2010 against the same period of the previous year, grew by 31%, including for plant products - by 57%, for animal products - by 17%.
