Ukraine ready to participate further in creating grain pool
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy is ready to continue the creation of a grain pool with Russia and Kazakhstan, Ukrainian minister Yuriy Melnyk has said this at the 75th International Green Week Berlin - Exhibition for the Food Industry, Agriculture and Horticulture, the ministry press-service has reported.
"Our stance remains unchanged: we have to join efforts with Russia and Kazakhstan in order not to compete in those markets where Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan are working together. A form of this cooperation is a subject to discussion," he said.
For today, according to Melnyk, a concept is developed that foresees a financial instrument of work via exchanges, with the help of risk insurance and reinsurance.
The Ukrainian minister emphasized that a question about Black Sea Pool is worked out at expert level. And now, a mechanism for attraction of stock exchanges to the grain market, both by the Russian and Ukrainian sides, will bring additional financial instruments.
"This is a very serious matter, as the question is about high money, deliveries of large volumes of grain from Ukraine and Russia," the minister underscored.
These three countries may provide over 30%, and then 40% of the global grain export market.
