Ukraine. Prosecutor General's Office checking grain market
The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) of Ukraine has started to check the observance of laws regulating the functioning of the grain market, including grain exports.
The PGO press service reported on Friday that main attention had been paid to the legality of price formation during the purchase of grain from domestic farmers, their protection from unlawful obligation to sell grain at low prices, as well as the implementation of the requirements of customs legislation in grain exports. The PGO will assess the completeness of the implementation by the authorities and control bodies of their powers on ensuring the development and stable functioning of the grain market.
Prosecutors from Crimea, the regions, as well as Kyiv and Sevastopol, have been involved in conducting the checks.
