Ukraine: possible growth of wheat and maize prices after cancellation of the export duties?
According to data of experts of APK-Inform Agency, Ukrainian agrarians do not hurry to change own selling policy of wheat and maize after cancellation of the present export duties on these crops.
According to wheat producers, significant activation of sales of milling and feed wheat is possible when the bid price reach the level of 1900 UAH/t and 1500 UAH/t EXW, respectively. At the same time, grain processors are not yet ready to purchase the grain at specified prices.
Many export-oriented companies do not declare own bid prices on the domestic market, or leave them at the previous levels.
Many producers of feed maize reported that good harvest rates of the grain assist to its active selling. In particular, most agrarians said that they planned to sell some part of maize volumes immediately after the harvesting campaign, due to lack of storage capacities. Such decision already led to the rapid reduction of the grain prices since the beginning of the harvesting campaign.
However, the future cancellation of the customs duties on maize exports gives ground to agrarians to believe that in the near future the grain prices to become stabilized (the average range will total 1200-1300 UAH/t EXW, depending on the quality indicators).
Ukrainian agrarians do not undertake to discuss the further development of the price situation on the market of maize, noting that everything will depend on purchasing policies of export companies.
