Ukraine: Ministry of Agrarian Policy and grain traders to come to arrangement

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine and international companies – grain traders came to arrangement about the cooperation in stabilization of the situation on Ukrainian grain market, announced Alexander Lavrinchuk, the Deputy General Director of the Agrarian Fund. The parties came to an arrangement about the mutual cooperation on the market, and bringing the plans of cooperation under the special Memorandum, said A.Lavrinchuk.

The Agrarian Fund of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy asked to grain traders with the proposal to consider the possibility of purchasing of 1 mln tonnes of grains at the average weighted price by the Agrarian Fund.

Grain traders promised to decrease the purchasing activity for the certain period, so the Agrarian Fund will be able to come on the market, noticed the Deputy General Director of the Agrarian Fund.

According to results of the meeting, grain traders supported the possibility of the introduction of quotas for grain exports, which will be stated in the memorandum. At the same time, grain traders asked the Government not to ban exports of the contracted grain lots, which are already shipped or waiting for shipping in the ports.

As it was previously announced according to the estimates of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, in the current marketing year grain export volumes will total 16 mln tonnes.
