Ukraine. Grain export quotas to be auctioned two weeks later
The government is planning to start auctions for the sale of quotas on grain exports in two weeks, because it takes time to make appropriate changes to legislation, First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev told a briefing.
"Ten days later, maximum in two weeks, the auctions will begin," he said.
According to Kliuyev, in the coming days amendments will be passed to the law on foreign trade activities, which will enable the government to sell quotas on grain exports through auction. "Who paid for the quota more, he will sell, and all the money from the quotas will go to the state budget. We are introducing the sale of s quotas through auctions to eliminate corruption components," he said.
As an UKRINFORM correspondent reported, the First Deputy Prime Minister said that the cost of a lot will be determined by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
Andriy Kliuyev noted that the introduction of quotas on grain exports is a temporary measure to prevent a rise in the price of grain in Ukraine. "As soon as we fill the state reserve of grain, the Agrarian Fund, then the quotas will be canceled and no problems with the export will emerge," he stressed.
