Ukraine exports about 16mln tons of grain
Since the start of this marketing year (MY - July 2009/June 2010), Ukraine exported about 16 million tons of grain, Deputy Agrarian Policy Minister Ivan Demchak has said.
According to him, presently one million tons of grain is being prepared for export in the ports.
He noted that in January grain export slightly dropped due to some factors.
By estimation of the Agrarian Policy Ministry, last month Ukraine exported about 1.7 million tons of grain crops.
Demchak also confirmed the earlier stated forecast of grain export in 2009/2010 MY totaling 20 million tons.
In 2009, Ukraine gathered 46 million tons of grain and leguminous cultures (in weight after processing), 13.7% less against 2008.
