Ukraine exported 2.7 mln tonnes of grains - Ministry of Agrarian Policy
Since beginning of the current marketing year, and as of August 27, 2012, the general grain exports from Ukraine totaled 2.74 mln tonnes, an increase of 82.6% compared to the same period in the previous season, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, the exports of wheat doubled - to the level of 1.17 mln tonnes (including 823.6 thsd tonnes of milling wheat and 348 thsd tonnes of feed wheat). At the same time, the exports of barley decreased by 42.7%, and totaled 0.5 mln tonnes.
As of the reporting date the exports of maize totaled 1.04 mln tonnes, against 48.4 thsd tonnes in the same period last year.
According to the announcement, since beginning of August Ukraine already exported 1.54 mln tonnes of grains, including 0.8 mln tonnes of wheat, 0.46 mln tonnes of barley and 0.25 mln tonnes of maize.
Since beginning of 2012/2013 MY, and as of August 27, rapeseed exports increased by 12% compared to the same date last marketing year, and totaled 215.2 thsd tonnes, soybean exports – up 3.5 times, to the level of 112.9 thsd tonnes. The exports of sunflower seed totaled 257.4 thsd tonnes, while on the same date last marketing year - 421.2 thsd tonnes.
