Ukraine by October 8 exports 7.1 million tonnes of grain
Ukraine since the start of the current marketing year (MY, July 2009 to June 2010) up until October 8 had exported 7.1 million tonnes of grain, which is 3.2% up year-over-year, according to a report of by Ukraine's Agriculture Ministry.
The ministry said that wheat exports in the period totaled 3.95 million tonnes, against 3.37 million tonnes year-over-year, and those of barley were 2.55 million tonnes, against almost 3 million tonnes year-on-year. Exports of Ukrainian corn over the period totaled almost 500,000 tonnes, against 430,000 tonnes.
According to the ministry, since early 2009 Ukraine had exported 765,000 tonnes of rape, which was 40% down year-on-year.
As reported, in September, Ukraine exported 2.465 million tonnes of grain, including 1.76 million tonnes of wheat, 597,000 tonnes of barley and 63,000 tonnes of corn.
