Ukraine. Agrarian Fund ups grain reserves by 500,000 tons in two months
The Agrarian Fund of Ukraine currently has 1.6 million tons of grain in storage, which is more than a minimum required level of reserves at 1.5 million tons, Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk has said.
While speaking in parliament on October 8, he said that grain purchases were continuing.
Prysiazhniuk also noted that according to an instruction by Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, the Agrarian Fund planned to start forward grain purchases from January 2011.
According to the Agrarian Fund, its grain reserves stood at 1.1 million tons as of August 10.
