Ukraine is deepening cooperation with Germany
Representatives of the Ukrainian and German agribusiness and ministries at the Embassy of Ukraine in Germany discussed the results of the countries' cooperation in the agricultural sector over the past year and identified the priority areas of work during the meeting at the anniversary X Ukrainian Agrarian Business Evening, which took place within the Green Week (Grüne Woche) in Berlin.
Association «Ukrainian Agribusiness Club» has already organized the Ukrainian business evening in the German Embassy for the tenth time. The meeting took place within the framework of the Green Week in Berlin. The co-organizers of the event were the German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD), the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA), IFWexpo, the partners of the evening were the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Germany.
«Such meetings are one of the opportunities to attract foreign investments and demonstrate the potential of the Ukrainian agrarian sector for German partners. The ideas about the opportunities for the export of Ukrainian technological innovations of precision farming were considered this year», commented Taras Vysotskyi, General Director of the Association «Ukrainian Agribusiness Club».
Germany is an important trading partner of Ukraine in the agrarian sector. Over 7 years, agricultural exports from Ukraine to this country increased 2.7 times from USD 86.5 mln (2010) to USD 233.7 mln (in 2016). In 11 months of 2017, compared with 2016, the export of agricultural products from Ukraine to Germany increased by 63%. Germany is the largest supplier of agrarian products to Ukraine in the structure of import of agricultural products (in 11 months of 2017).
The Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture of Germany implements 5 cooperative projects in Ukraine: Agrarian and Political Dialogue, project related to the Agricultural Demonstration and Training Centre (ADFZ), Biological Agriculture, Agrarian Trade and Professional Education (agrarian colleges). The purpose of these projects is the exchange of experience and effective solutions in the agro-industrial complex, which operate successfully in Germany.
