Tigipko proposes introduction of indicative prices to control exports
The introduction of indicative prices will help prevent Ukrainian enterprises understating export prices with the aim of moving profit outside the country tax-free, Deputy Prime Minister and Social Policy Minister Sergiy Tigipko has said.
"This will help [companies to] sell abroad, for example, metal, at certain prices that the state will be able to monitor," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Saturday.
Tigipko said that the mechanism of setting indicative prices was a widely used tool in the world.
As reported, the current accepted practice is for checks to be conducted by customs authorities on import prices in order to prevent their being understated to reduce value added tax payments.
At the same time, inspection bodies sometimes accuse companies of manipulating export prices, for example, in 2010 such accusations were made against grain exporters.
