The area under winter wheat is slightly larger than in 2009
The area under winter wheat is slightly larger than in 2009. The estimated total wheat area is nearly 250 Th ha greater than last year.
We believe the acreage under spring cereals will be somewhat larger than last year at the expense of increased corn areas.
The total 2010 harvest of winter and spring cereals is expected below last year’s level but slightly at about 44MMT (45.4 in 2009).
