Russia produced 86.4 mln tonnes of grains – Ministry of Agriculture

According to operative data of subjects of the Russian Federation as of September 28, 2011, Russian agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 37.3 mln ha, or 85% of the planned areas. The production volumes totaled 86.4 mln tonnes of grains. Grain yield increased to the level of 23.2 c/ha against 19 c/ha last year, and 24.2 c/ha in 2009, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.

Agricultural enterprises of the Southern Federal District harvested grains throughout the areas of 6.4 mln ha (90% of the sowing areas), and produced 20.7 mln tonnes of grains (in 2010 – 18.8 mln tonnes). The average yield totaled 32.7 c/ha (30.8 c/ha in 2010, and 30.3 c/ha in 2009).

The North Caucasian District harvested grains throughout 2.4 mln ha (87% of the areas). The production volumes totaled 9 mln tonnes, against 7.8 mln tonnes in the previous two years each. Grain yield in the present year reached 37.2 c/ha as opposed to 32.2 c/ha in 2010, and 30.6 c/ha in 2009.

Agricultural enterprises of the Central Federal District harvested grains throughout 6.7 mln ha (90% of the areas), and produced 16.4 mln tonnes of grains, as opposed to 10.1 mln tonnes in 2010. In the present year grain yield totaled 24.5 c/ha against 18.8 c/ha in 2010.

In the current year agrarians of the Volga District harvested grains throughout the areas of 10.7 mln ha (86% of the areas), and produced 21.2 mln tonnes of grains against 6.7 mln tonnes in 2010. The average yield totaled 19.7 c/ha against 10.1 c/ha in 2010, and 20 c/ha in 2009.

Agricultural enterprises of the Siberian District harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout 8.4 mln ha (84% of the areas), and produced 13.3 mln tonnes of grains against 10.8 mln tonnes last year, and 10.7 mln tonnes in 2009. In 2011, the average yield totaled 15.7 c/ha against 15.1 c/ha in 2010.

The Far Eastern Federal District harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout 269 thsd ha (81% of the areas), and produced 507 thsd tonnes of grains, against 196 thsd tonnes last year, and 559 thsd tonnes in 2009. The average yield totaled 18.8 c/ha against 10.3 c/ha in 2010, and 16.5 c/ha in 2009.

The Urals District harvested grains throughout 2.2 mln ha (60% of the areas), and produced 4.8 mln tonnes against 3.4 mln tonnes in 2010, and 4.2 mln tonnes in 2009). The average yield in the District totaled 22 c/ha as opposed to 13.1 c/ha in 2010, and 15.3 c/ha in 2009.

Agrarians harvested wheat (winter and spring) throughout the areas of 22 mln ha (86% of the sowing areas). The production volumes totaled 53.5 mln tonnes of the grain (in 2010 - 39.1 mln tonnes). The average yield totaled 24.3 c/ha (in 2010 - 19.9 c/ha).

Russian agrarians harvested barley (winter and spring) throughout the areas of 7.3 mln ha (92% of the areas), and produced 16.8 mln tonnes of the grain (in 2010 - 8 mln tonnes, in 2009 - 17.7 mln tonnes). The average yield totaled 22.9 c/ha (in 2010 - 17.5 c/ha, in 2009 - 24.5 c/ha).

Agricultural enterprises harvested buckwheat throughout the areas of 466.8 thsd ha (51.8% of the areas). The production volumes totaled 467.3 thsd tonnes of the grain (in 2010 - 277 thsd tonnes, in 2009 - 198 thsd tonnes). The average yield totaled 10 c/ha (in 2010 - 6.9 c/ha, in 2009 - 9.4 c/ha).

Agrarians harvested maize for grain throughout the areas of 315 thsd ha (18% of the areas). The production volumes totaled 1.4 mln tonnes of the grain (in 2009 - 428 thsd tonnes). The average yield totaled 44.3 c/ha (in 2010 - 27.6 c/ha, in 2009 - 37.1 c/ha).
