Russia: Ministry of Agriculture increased the forecast for grain exports in 2011
The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, previously estimating the export potential of the country in 2011 at the level of 18 mln tonnes of grains, increased its forecast to 20 mln tonnes.
Taking into account the fact that the rate of harvesting works continue rising, the Ministry increased the forecast of grain exports to average range of 18-20 mln tonnes, said Elena Skrynnik, Minister of Agriculture of Russia, on July 25.
According to her, to date the price of Russian grains is 10-20% below the world prices. The price also reduced by 10% compared to the beginning of the harvest campaign, said the Minister.
E.Skrynnik also informed that the Ministry does not plan to provide any draft laws on export subsidies, because the situation on the market is normal.
