Russia harvested over 74 mln tonnes of grains - Ministry of Agriculture

According to operative data as of September 13, 2011, agrarians of the Russian Federation harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 30.6 mln ha (69% of the sowing areas), and produced 74.2 mln tonnes of grains (in 2010 – 49.7 mln tonnes). The average yield totaled 24.2 c/ha (in 2010 - 19.5 c/ha, in 2009 – 25 c/ha), declared the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In particular, the Southern Federal District harvested grains throughout the areas of 6 mln ha (85% of the sowing areas), and produced 19.3 mln tonnes (in 2010 – 17.8 mln tonnes, in 2009 – 18.34 mln tonnes). The average yield totaled 32.4 c/ha (in 2010 - 30.7 c/ha, in 2009 – 29.9 c/ha).

The North Caucasian Federal District harvested grains throughout 2.4 mln ha (86% of the sowing areas), and produced 8.8 mln tonnes (in 2010 – 7.6 mln tonnes, in 2009 – 7.7 mln tonnes) with the average yield of 37.1 c/ha (in 2010 - 32.1 c/ha, in 2009 – 30.9 c/ha).

The Central Federal District harvested grains throughout 6.5 mln ha (87%), and produced 15.7 mln tonnes (in 2010 – 9.9 mln tonnes) with the yield of 24.3 c/ha (in 2010 – 18.8 c/ha).

Agrarians of the Volga Federal District harvested grains throughout the areas of 10.2 mln ha (82% of the areas), produced 20.4 mln tonnes (in 2010 – 6.4 mln tonnes, in 2009 – 19.5 mln tonnes). The yield totaled 20 c/ha (in 2010 - 10 c/ha, in 2009 – 19.3 c/ha).

The Siberian Federal District harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 3.7 mln ha (37%), and produced 5.8 mln tonnes (in 2010 – 4.9 mln tonnes, in 2009 – 4.3 mln tonnes), with the yield of 15.7 c/ha (in 2010 – 14.8 c/ha).

The Far Eastern Federal District harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout 247 thsd ha (74% of the areas), and produced 488 thsd tonnes (in 2010 – 182 thsd tonnes, in 2009 – 445 thsd tonnes). The yield totaled 19.7 c/ha (in 2010 – 10.5 c/ha, in 2009 – 16.9 c/ha).

The Urals Federal District harvested grains throughout 1.3 mln ha (37% of the areas), and produced 3 mln tonnes (in 2010 – 2.5 mln tonnes, in 2009 – 1.8 mln tonnes). The yield totaled 22.1 c/ha (in 2010 – 12.5 c/ha, in 2009 – 15.3 c/ha).

Agrarians of Russia harvested wheat throughout the general areas of 17.3 mln ha (68% of the forecast). The production volumes formed the level of 45.8 mln tonnes (in 2010 – 33.4 mln tonnes, in 2009 – 45.8 mln tonnes) with the yield of 26.4 c/ha (in 2010 - 21 c/ha).

Agrarians harvested barley throughout 6.8 mln ha (86% of the forecast), and produced `15.7 mln tonnes of the grain (in 2010 – 7.4 mln tonnes, in 2009 – 15.5 mln tonnes). The average yield totaled 23.8 c/ha (in 2010 – 17.7 c/ha).

Russia harvested maize for grain throughout the areas of 34 thsd ha (2% of the sowing areas). The production volumes totaled 158 thsd tonnes. The average yield totaled 43.4 c/ha (in 2010 - 29.5 c/ha, in 2009 - 39.8 c/ha).

Agrarians harvested sunflower throughout 153 thsd ha (2% of the sowing areas), and produced 314 thsd tonnes of the oilseed (in 2010 - 92 thsd tonnes). The average yield totaled 20.6 c/ha (in 2010 - 15 c/ha, in 2009 - 18.3 c/ha).

Russia harvested winter and spring rapeseed throughout the areas of 441 thsd ha (48% of the sowing areas), produced 613 thsd tonnes of the oilseed (in 2010 – 490 thsd tonnes, in 2009 – 507 thsd tonnes) with the yield of 13.9 c/ha (in 2010 – 13.7 c/ha, in 2009 – 13.2 c/ha).

Russia harvested soybean throughout the areas of 46 thsd ha (4%), and produced 80 thsd tonnes (in 2010 - 7 thsd tonnes). The yield totaled 17.5 c/ha (in 2010 - 11.7 c/ha, in 2009 - 12.9 c/ha).

As of September 13, the Russian Federation sowed winter grains throughout 5.9 mln ha, or 33% of the forecast of sowing areas. Russia plans to sow winter grains throughout 17.8 mln ha, which is at the level of recent years.
