Retail turnover down
Retail turnover (including retail trade turnover of retail enterprises (taking into consideration the volumes of sales on the markets and by natural persons-entrepreneurs) made up UAH 161.8 billion over January-May in Ukraine, 15.3% less against January-May 2008 (USD 1/UAH 7.61), the State Statistics Committee informs.
In the retail structure, 30.9% fell on the organized and informal markets. In the organized markets' turnover, agricultural products made up 17.1%.
Turnover of the restaurant economy (with taking into consideration turnover of natural persons-entrepreneurs) made up UAH 6 billion (- 17.6%) over January-May 2009.
Over January-May 2009, the volume of retail turnover of enterprises engaged in retail trade and the restaurant economy made up UAH 85.5 billion (- 80.5% against January-May 2008).
At the same time, turnover of wholesale trade enterprises made up UAH 291.6 million over January-May 2009, the volume of wholesale turnover dropped by 24.4% against January-May 2008.
