Ministry of Transport approves OCSP development program
The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine has approved the development program of Odessa Commercial Sea Port (OCSP) until 2015. The program envisages the port capacities to grow to 63.5mn tons, the net profit to increase more than two-fold, the annual budget contributions to rise 1.8-fold, and to create over 1,400 jobs in port and about 10,000 jobs in affiliated enterprises and organizations. The main points of the program are to attract foreign investments to develop the port production capacities, to create competitive conditions for modern large-capacity fleet, to develop cruise tourism, to increase guaranteed level of shipping safety and ecological safety within the port, to introduce energy-saving technologies. In particular, it is offered to construct a new container terminal with the capacity of 600,000 TEU per year with the volume of investments amounting to UAH 3.85bn (EUR 319.96mn USD 481.44mn) and to expand the existent one, to build a berth #35, an universal terminal, to develop the structural department Shipyard Ukraine, to construct a dry port, and to develop railway infrastructure.
