Kazakhstan may produce 25 mln tonnes of grains in bunker weight in 2011, in the terms of keeping of the present yield indices, declared Eugene Aman, Executive secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, on September 22.
To date the country harvested nearly 20 mln tonnes of grains throughout 77% of the planned areas.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture, the current harvest will set the record for the recent 60 years. However, such grain volumes provide a number of challenges for storage and marketing of the harvest-2011 to Kazakh agricultural producers. The Food Contract Corporation announced about purchasing of 5 mln tonnes of grains.
Last year, the harvest of grains in Kazakhstan was low due to severe droughts. The country produced 12.2 mln tonnes of grains in clean weight, and exported 6 mln tonnes of grains.
