IMF predicts this year’s inflation in Ukraine may be up to 10%
The International Monetary Fund believes Ukraine’s inflation may reach 10% in 2010. IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Max Alier said this at a news conference on the prospects of economic development in Ukraine after the presidential election and on Ukraine’s attractiveness for investors.
“As noted in our macroeconomic forecasts, there will be growth. I believe this year's inflation will be one-digit, i.e. up to 10%,” he said.
In the opinion of Mr. Alier, Ukraine's economy is expected to grow first of all due to exports, since domestic demand is not strong enough to drive the economy. According to him, these are tentative forecasts of the Fund, while the final ones will be released later.
Please remember that the International Monetary Fund is ready to continue cooperation with Ukraine.
