Harvest enables to fully meet needs of Ukrainians in agricultural products
This was stated by Prime Minister on September 26 during a Government meeting, UN Radio reports.
Today, agro-industrial production in Ukraine is one of the key factors that supports the economic dynamics in the period of variability of demand for traditional Ukrainian exportable goods, - Mykola Azarov noted. - Agro-industrial complex has a very high potential because it gives a boost to science, machine-building, transport industry and many other areas of economic activity.
Head of the Government said that over 8 months the volume of agricultural production in Ukraine had increased by 13.3 % compared to the same period in 2012. In addition, the yield of wheat should be record-high over all the years of independence. Early grain harvest is being successfully gathered. We have fully met our domestic needs for food grain,- Prime Minister said.
Also, according to Head of the Cabinet, the harvest of vegetables this year can fully meet the needs of the population, prevent an increase in consumer prices and ensure production profitability. Mykola Azarov assured that despite the rainy weather, all the necessary harvest work would be carried out in full and in a good manner. It is necessary to make the best use of every fine day, every hour for harvesting and preservation of agricultural crops as well as for initiation of future harvest, he noted and instructed the Ministry of Agrarian Policy to accumulate agricultural equipment to the greatest possible extent and provide all possible assistance for the completion of grain harvest and winter crops sowing.
