Early grain crops yield harvested on third of planned areas in Ukraine - Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry
In Ukraine, as of July 3, 6.82 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were thrashed on the acreage of 2.72 million ha (26% of the plan) with average crop capacity reaching 25 centners/ha. The press service of the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry told Ukrinform about this.
“The yield of grain and leguminous crops on the area of 2.72 million ha made up 682 million tons as of July 3. Until the designated date, in particular, winter barley was gathered on 879,000 ha of (82%). With the average crop capacity of 26.1 centners/ha, the gross yield makes up 2.29 million tons. Winter wheat was harvested on the acreage of 1.32 million ha (25%). 4.21 million tons was thrashed, the average crop capacity makes up 26.1 centners/ha,” the agency informs.
As of the same date of 2012, 3.04 million tons of grain was gathered with the average crop capacity reaching 17.6 centners/ha.
According to live data, gross yield of peas makes up 81,000 tons. With the average crop capacity of 12.9 centners/ha, the crop was thrashed on 63,000 ha (33%).
Agricultural producers also started harvesting rye and spring barley. As of the reporting date, 5,000 tons and 8,000 tons were thrashed respectively.
In addition, winter rape was harvested on 228,000 ha. With the average crop capacity of 16.6 centners/ha, this crop was gathered to the amount of 380,000 tons.
