Belarus sowed early spring grains throughout over 50% of sowing areas
As of April 17, 2010, agricultural enterprises of the Republic of Belarus sowed spring crops throughout 615.2 thsd ha, or 25.7% of the planned areas, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus.
According to information of the Ministry, agrarians sowed early spring grains and leguminous plants throughout 569.2 thsd ha, or 52.1% of the planned areas.
Agrarians lowered the sowing rates compared to the last year indices: as of the same date of the previous year, agricultural enterprises of Belarus sowed spring crops throughout 38% of the planned areas, including early spring grains and leguminous plants – 75%.
Agricultural enterprises stocked 1.05 mln tonnes of reactant of mineral fertilizers, or 78% of the required volumes, including 59% of the required volumes of nitrogenous fertilizers, 60% of the required volumes of phosphorous fertilizers, 104% of the required volumes of potash fertilizers.
As a reminder, in 2010, agricultural enterprises of the country plan to sow spring crops throughout 2.4 mln ha, including 1.24 mln ha of spring grains and leguminous plants.
Belarus plans to complete the sowing campaign of grains and leguminous plants till May 1. The sowing campaign of maize will end on May 15.
