Beet sugar output 1 million tons
Ukrainian sugar refineries have produced 1.08 million tons of beet sugar, which is 9.5% less on the year, the UkrSugar association reported.
Currently 23 refineries are processing sugar, and 33 have already completed the refining season.
Sugar refineries have accepted 8.4 million tons of beet, 7.9 million tons of which have been processed.
The agricultural policy ministry is predicting the production of beet sugar at 1.2 million tons in 2009.
