Azarov: FTA agreement to be prepared for EU-Ukraine summit on November 22
An agreement on the creation of a free trade area (FTA) between Ukraine and the European Union (EU) could be prepared for signature before the EU-Ukraine summit, which is to be held in Kyiv on November 22, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.
"I believe that we'll prepare a free trade agreement [in time] for the EU-Ukraine summit," he said at a meeting with Finnish Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb in Helsinki on Wednesday.
Azarov noted that the association agreement, which is also being drafted for signature by the EU and Ukraine, as a political document and declaration, could also be adopted rather quickly.
"It makes no sense to delay this, because it's a serious signal for Ukraine," he said.
