As of October 31, Ukraine produced over 50 mln tonnes of grains

As of October 31, 2011, Ukraine produced 50.05 mln tonnes of grains, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to the announcement, agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 14.54 mln ha, or 93% of the forecast. The average yield of these crops in the country totaled 35.1 c/ha against 27.9 c/ha last year.
Agrarians harvested 14.54 mln tonnes of maize throughout 2.52 mln ha (70% of the forecast). The average yield totaled 57.6 c/ha, as opposed to 44.3 c/ha in 2010.
Agrarians harvested buckwheat throughout 276 thsd ha (99% of the forecast). The production volumes totaled 311 thsd tonnes with the average yield of 11.3 c/ha against 8.2 c/ha last year.
Ukraine harvested millet throughout 152 thsd ha (99% of the forecast), and produced 291 thsd tonnes with the average yield of 19.1 c/ha (in 2010 - 15.3 c/ha).
As of October 31, Ukraine also produced 8.43 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout the areas of 4.53 mln ha (99%). The average yield totaled 18.6 c/ha, as opposed to 16 c/ha last year.
Ukrainian agrarians harvested soybean throughout 997 thsd ha (89%), and produced 2.02 mln tonnes with the yield of 20.3 c/ha (in 2010 - 15.6 c/ha).
