As of July 30, Ukraine harvested grains throughout 76% of the general areas
According to data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as of July 30, 2010, agricultural enterprises of all categories harvested grains and leguminous plants (without maize) throughout 9.4 mln ha or 76% from the general sowing areas for the harvest-2010 (as of July 31 2009 – 69% form the general areas), declared the Service on August 16.
Agricultural enterprises produced 17.4 mln tonnes of grains (in clean weight), down 15.8% compared to the same date of 2009. Enterprises of the population harvested 5.7 mln tonnes (down 2.2%).
The average yield of agricultural enterprises totaled 25 c/ha (down 12.3% compared to the last year level), and the yield indices of enterprises of the population totaled 23.1 c/ha (down 13.2%).
Winter grain production totaled 75% from the general grain and leguminous plants (without maize) production – 17.9 mln tonnes (down 12% compared to the last year level), including winter wheat – 14.3 mln tonnes (down 12.3%), winter barley – 3.3 mln tonnes (down 10.9%). Spring grain production (5.2 mln tonnes) decreased by 15.8% compared to the previous year level.
Spring barley (4.2 mln tonnes) formed 81% from the general volumes of spring grain production. The essential yield decrease (by 4c/ha or 17.5%) of spring barley caused the production volumes fall by 20.8%
