Agrarians have exported 7.3 million tonnes of corn
Ukraine continues 2012 harvest grain export. Currently, the main export culture is corn, it has been exported 7.3 million tonnes. In general, as on 21 January 2013 it has been exported 15.5 million tonnes of grain. This was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
“Currently, Ukraine remains its leading position at the international grain market due to active export. Thus, as on 21 January agrarians have exported 15.5 million tonnes of grain. Corn remains the main export culture. In particular, agrarians have exported 7.3 million tonnes of it. Then, we have exported more than half of the predicted export”, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
According to the Minister, there is enough grain stock to provide both domestic need and enhance our position at the external markets. Thus, as on 1 January there are nearly 30 million tonnes of grain, in particular 8.4 million is wheat (5.8 is food, the need is 2.6), 13.8 million tonnes of corn and 5 million tonnes of barley.
