Agrarian Union of Ukraine calls upon the State to immediately cancel the export duties on grains
The Government should immediately cancel the export duties on grains, and reestablish refunding of the VAT to grain traders to stabilize the price situation on the grain market, stated Gennadiy Novikov, Chairman of the Agrarian Union of Ukraine.
According to G.Novikov, under the influence of the Russia's entering on the export markets, activity of the export duties on Ukrainian grains and the absence of the VAT refund, the cost of grains in Ukraine is being formed at the level below its production cost. He said that in the current year the prime cost of wheat and barley growing totals 1180-1270 UAH/t.
According to G.Novikov, farmers expenditures continue increasing due to the need of grain drying, because of the rainy weather. He reported that, according to the number of enterprises, such costs are 60-70 UAH/t.
