As of Jan, mayonnaise output slumped by 38%, down to 11,400 MT

Within Jan 2010 mayonnaise output has plummeted to 11,410 MT, down 38% against Dec 2009/down 7% as of Jan 2009, reported Agrarika Ltd referring to Jan 2010 companies outputs preliminary data, As to report, within Sept/09-Jan/10 companies have declined mayonnaise total output to 69,360 MT, down against 74,270 MT in Sept/08-Jan/09.

Soil moisture content improved considerably

Soil moisture replenished significantly as a result of winter precipitation. For example, the content of productive moisture at the one-meter soil layer equals 160-170 mm in Kherson region (one of the most arid region of Ukraine) even on sown fields that were not fallow prior to planting last fall. That is 30-45% higher than average annual values. This moisture is an important positive factor contributing to crop formation in this arid region.
