Russia, US Resume Poultry Meat Trade Talks
RUSSIA — Poultry trade talks between the US and Russia have restarted in Moscow with the arrival of the American delgation in Moscow. A US agricultural delegation arrived in Moscow to resume talks on poultry imports, which have been suspended since the beginning of the year.

EU boosts sugar exports as prices soar
The EU plans to export an extra 500,000 tonnes of sugar because world sugar prices have soared and European beet farmers have surpluses. The European Commission says the export of extra, unsubsidised sugar will not violate international trade rules. It says the measure is temporary.

Ilichivsk reports a 15.4% throughput growth, 3m tons in January-February
In January-February this year freight traffic volumes via state-run Illichivsk Sea Commercial Port (SCPI, Odessa region, Ukraine) reached 3.06 million tons, as much as 15.4% over the same period in 2009. Transshipment of general cargo increased by 5%, bulk cargo volumes rose 15%, while handling of liquid bulk cargo jumped as much as 78%, the Port Authority statement said.

Corn exports decreased and reached 555.5 KMT that is by 20% less than in January 2010 (696.6 KMT). In total 3 671.8 KMT has been shipped in the 2009/10 season (October 2009 – February 2010).
