100,000 tons of fish caught in Ukraine for 7 months - statistics
In January-July 2012, enterprises and businessmen engaged in fishing activities caught and produced a total of 100,000 tons of fish and other aquatic resources, which is 1.9% more compared to the same period in 2011, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.
According to the State Statistics Service, the fish catch has decreased by 1.5% and amounted to 92.3 thousand tons (92.3% of the total volume). The output of other aquatic resources was 7.7 thousand tons, which is 1.7 times more than last year.
As UKRINFORM reported, 79.8 thousand tons of fish and other aquatic resources were caught in Ukraine for the first half of 2012.
