Ukraine will be in position to export cereal seed to the EU market
The European Commission has resumed work towards recognition of equivalence of the Ukrainian system of official control and certification of cereal seed with the European Union requirements. It provides potential opportunity to export Ukrainian seeds to the EU countries.

Israel is a promising market for the Ukrainian sweets
Over the past 5 years, trade of Ukraine with Israel has declined. Thus, export to Israel reduced by 43% or USD 217.4 million. In 2016 the total value of supplies of agricultural products to Israel amounted to USD 292.8 million while in 2012 the supplies volume was USD 510.2 million. Import of agricultural products from specified country decreased comparing 2012 by 60% as well. Despite the negative tendency, trade balance remains positive - export exceeds import by USD 284.5 million (as of 2016).

As of May 16 the average purchase price for pork of beef breed in terms of live weight accounted for 41 UAH/kg that is 28% higher than at the start of the year, the price of pork of 2nd category was 39 UAH/kg that is 39% higher than at the beginning of this year

May frosts put at risk harvest of fruits and berries
April-June period is important for flowering and fruit ovaries formation of the fruit trees and berries. Due to the sharp decrease in temperature on 9-11 May the process of flowering and young fruit formation occurs under difficult conditions. The air temperature in some regions, particularly in the western regions and parts of the northern regions, reduced to zero and even reached 8 degrees below zero (on the ground).

In April price for vegetables shot up
In April the cost of vegetables of borshch set significantly increased comparing to March. Average selling prices for potatoes increased by 10%, for cabbage – by 68%, for carrot - by 64%, for beet - by 22% and for onions - by 34%. Low level of products stock due to the end of season as well as increase in supply of vegetables from the new harvest which are more expensive constitute a reason for the ascending price trend.

Current year losses of winter crops are record low over the past decade
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, current year losses of winter crops are record low over the past 10 years. In winter period of 2016/2017 marketing year only 0.4% (25.5 thous. ha) of winter crops were ruined by frost out of the total area sown by winter crops (7,175.1 thous. ha). Losses of wheat and triticale amounted to 0.3%, rye - 0.1%, barley - 1.1% and rapeseed - 5.8%.

Half of the Ukrainian mustard is collected in three regions
Ukraine ranks fourth in the world for production output of mustard and second for its export. Every year Ukrainian farmers grow approximately 40 thous. tons of mustard seeds which are exported to the fullest extent.
