It is high time for the Member States to heed the opinion of the European Parliament and accept the compromise proposal.

AGCO and UCAB Prioritize Recovery at International Conference in Brussels “Fields of Change: Charting the Path of Ukrainian Agriculture”

Brussels, Belgium – On October 5, 2023, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club and AGCO Corporation held the first international Ukrainian agricultural conference "Fields of Change: Charting the Path of Ukrainian Agriculture" in Brussels. More than 120 participants, including key Ukrainian and EU policymakers, agribusiness leaders and representatives of financial institutions attended. They shared experiences and discussed support for Ukraine, particularly about agriculture recovery and future directions on its path to EU integration.

EU office of Ukrainian agribusiness starts operations in Brussels

Ukraine’s agricultural sector has established its permanent presence before European institutions in Brussels. As of today, October 2, the EU office of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB), a business association representing leading Ukrainian agricultural companies, becomes officially operational in the European Union's capital. The office will be led by Nazar Bobitski, a former Ukrainian diplomat and experienced expert on EU trade policy and regulation.

Ucab In 10 years poultry export from Ukraine can reach about USD 1 billion

According to the forecast conducted by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development as well as the World Food Programme, the global meat production will increase by 12% within the next 10 years. The increase will mainly take place in developing countries such as Brazil, China, India, Mexico, Pakistan and Turkey.

Ucab Import of butter has increased 7.7 times since the beginning of the year

In January-June 2020, dairy products were imported to the amount of USD 137 million which is 2.6 times more than over the same period last year. The increase of supplies to Ukraine from abroad took place in all groups of dairy products. Supply of butter grew more than 7.7 times (+6.5 thousand tons) whereas milk and non-condensed cream grew 5 times (+5 thousand tons).

Ucab Profitability of grain production fell almost threefold in 2019

According to the State Statistics Service, in 2019 profitability of grain production decreased to 11.8%, whereas in previous years it constituted about 30%. This is the lowest index since 2014.

Ucab In April-May 2020 export of nitrogen fertilizers exceeded import by 2.5 times

Ukrainian producers of nitrogen fertilizers are competitive both in the Ukrainian market and in the world market as well. Thus, according to the State Customs Service from July 2019 to May 2020 the net export (surplus of export over import) of nitrogen fertilizers (group 3102 UK TZED) exceeded USD 70 million. In this regard export reached USD 247 million and import amounted to USD 176.

Ucab The British named major competitive advantages of the Ukrainian agribusiness

On 27 January in Kyiv the British agricultural producers shared their impressions of a visit to the Ukrainian agricultural enterprises that took place from 23 to 28 January. The trip to Ukraine was arranged by Syngenta Company supported by the British Embassy in Ukraine. The British agricultural producers visited Poltava and Zhytomyr regions, joined the field crops conference ‘Workshop of Farmer’ supported by Syngenta in Kharkiv. The final destination of the visit was Kyiv where they told reporters about experience gained during trips to agricultural farms, and evaluated potential of the agricultural sector in Ukraine.
