UCAB, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine unite efforts for further development and creation of favorable conditions for export.

On December 1, a tripartite Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and public associations of the agro-industrial complex, including the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club”. The document provides for the optimization of actions coordination and interaction of the Parties in the framework of the trade policy of Ukraine's trade and development of its export potential, by ensuring compliance with the requirements of the legislation of the destination countries.

The Memorandum generalizes the common position on identifying the priority courses of trade relations development of Ukraine in the directions of production. According to the signatories, the document aims to promote international trade and improve the export potential of Ukraine, diversify the markets for domestic products, and increase the competitiveness of goods in foreign markets.

Taras Vysotskyi, Director General of the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” commented on the document signing, noting that its main goal is to coordinate the export steps: “The Memorandum outlines the framework conditions for cooperation on the opening of foreign markets for agrarian products. The document clearly identifies the priorities, defines coherence and comprehensive work on the plan. For example, if we work with Indonesia, then we agree on regulatory documents and permits for all agricultural product groups that may be of interest for exports to this country. That is, we have a comprehensive approach to each country, identifying the priority ones, so that companies do not come to us alone, and we - to the Ministry and the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection for each problem separately.”

The parties agreed to establish an overall system for monitoring the implementation of state policy in the field of trade and development of export potential. According to the Export Strategy of Ukraine, the priority markets for products towards production directions will be identified, taking into account markets in focus. For the implementation of the Memorandum targets, the parties agreed to organize regular meetings at least once every three months.
