Parliament conserved corruption schemes in land relations for one more year
October 6, Parliament adopted the bill to extend the moratorium on sale of agricultural land until January 1, 2018. 297 deputies voted «For» the bill № 5123-1.
The Association «Ukrainian Agribusiness Сlub» thinks that extending the moratorium does not solve the problems in land relations, but only conserves corruption schemes for one more year. After all, this bill does not offer solutions of pressing issues in land relations.
«All agricultural community understands that the country is not ready for market introduction of agricultural land ownership since January 1, 2017. Professional associations, including the Association «Ukrainian Agribusiness Club» proposed effective tools for pilot projects for the sale of state-owned land in the next year. Public land is the main subject of corruption schemes. With the adoption of the bill № 5123-1 nobody will understand when and who should make the necessary laws for the regulation of land relations. Uncertainty and corruption scare investors away. This means that investment flows are not expected next year again», - said Alex Lissitsa, President of the Association «Ukrainian Agribusiness Club».
