Ukrainian agricultural enterprises have chances to match with world agrarian market leaders - experts
By results of the analysis of the agribenchmark project, held by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club and the German Agricultural Society and the Johann von Thunen Institute (Germany), Ukrainian agricultural enterprises remained rather effective in production of some agricultural products against foreign farmers, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club informed.
Among main competitive advantages of Ukrainian farmers, the agribenchmark experts note high soil fertility, low rent cost and cheap labor force.
The Ukrainian Agribusiness Club notes that Ukrainian agricultural enterprises have the best positions on rape and corn. "If to speak about the rape yield, here we do not yield to Europe. At the same time, Ukrainian producers getting on average a price lower by 20% against European, are more profitable against Canadian farmers that are number one by production and export of rape in the world," Agribusiness Club expert Roman Slasten says.
Competitiveness of Ukrainian corn producers also is worth of notice that by expenses per one ton of corn actually does not yield to the U.S. farmers. Thus, at the Ukrainian enterprise under studies expenses per one ton of corn made up USD 120, whereas in the economies participating in the project from the USA this index on average was USD 20 up.
Therefore, having a considerable reserve of the price stability, Ukrainian agricultural enterprises have all the chances to match with leaders of world markets of agrarian products, the experts are convinced.
