Average annual milk herd’s productivity has increased
Ukrainian farmers and market operators have been seeing upward tendency of milk herd productivity rate during last years.
Thus, agro companies continue to optimize production costs through cutting a number of animals in herds and increasing average efficiency rate. As a result industry remains stable production volume. 1Q16 has shown 5.2% increase of milk herd productivity comparing to 1Q15. This trend is observed due to low efficient animals’ culling considering strong high losses probability under national market pricing pressure. If productivity rate remains stable at 1Q16 level, annual average milk yield intent to reach 5.7t per an animal (calculated as per overall average herd number).
