Rosselkhoznadzor returns more than 137 tonnes of illegal fruit to Belarus
More than 137 tonnes of oranges, mandarins and apples that were illegally transported from Belarus to Russia via Bryansk were returned by Rosselkhoznadzor, a press release of the regional department of the watchdog said on Thursday.
The consignment of fruit from Belarus was seized on January 14 at a Krasnaya Gorka and Krasny Kamen border checkpoints.
"More than 40 tonnes of mandarins and oranges were transported with invalid copies of phytosanitary certificates of the Republic of Tunisia, which were certified and confirmed by the relevant state inspectors of the Republic of Belarus," the statement said.
In addition, re-export phytosanitary certificates were drafted in Belarus for 97 tonnes of Polish apples, which also was transported to Russia with violations of transport terms.
