EU countries have fully exhausted duty-free quota for export of poultry meat into Ukraine

Since the entry into force of the DCFTA economic part  with the European Union, i.e. January 1, 2016, as of April 5, EU countries have completely exhausted the duty-free quota for export of poultry meat into Ukraine and 67% of the quota for sugar.

Duty-free main quota for poultry meat and semi-processed products of poultry has been used in the volume of 8 ths t (100%). Among the top countries-suppliers of these products in Ukraine were the United Kingdom, Germany and Poland. Using of additional duty-free quota on poultry meat has not yet commenced. Within the limits of duty-free quota Ukraine has imported sugar in volume of 20.1 ths t out of 30 ths t, that is 67% of the total quota size.

The main duty-free quota for pork (10 ths t) was used only on 11% (1 000 t). Among the main countries-importers of the pork were the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. Using of additional quota has not been started.

As of April 5, Ukrainian agricultural producers have fully exhausted the duty-free quotas for export to the EU of corn (400 ths t), grape and apple juices (10 ths t), processed tomatoes (10 ths t), grits and flour (6.3 ths t), sugar (20.07 ths t), and natural honey (5 ths t). The next commodity positions are close to have the duty-free quotas filled out: wheat (88%, 835.6 ths t out of 950 ths t) and oats (97%, 3.9 ths t out of 4 ths t).
