During recent 7 weeks market capitalization of Ukrainian public companies of agro industry has grown by 3%. According to data of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) at the beginning of September total capitalization of 14 Ukrainian agro companies on global stock markets was $5.9 billion but to date it’s already more than $6.5 billion.

As noted by UCAB such growth was influenced by increasing interest of foreign investors to Ukraine and especially to Ukrainian agriculture. “Agricultural sector is probably the only branch of economy which didn’t lose foreign investors even in crisis period. And today agribusiness continues to be the most attractive sector for investment what is confirmed by rise in share prices of Ukrainian agriholdings,” comments Alex Lissitsa, President of UCAB.

This year several successful placements were made by Ukrainian companies on international stock exchanges. One of the recent is private offering of 26.2% of total share capital of Agroton Public Limited on the Warsaw Stock Exchange what resulted in gross proceeds of $54.3 mln. and $207 mln. of market capitalization.

In the nearest future few more Ukrainian agribusiness companies plan public offering. However experts note that volume of free and underestimated assets in Ukraine is limited.  

«Share offer of underestimated Ukrainian agriholdings is already scarce but overseas investors’ demand for it is growing with the global economy recovery background, - said Roman Slaston, adviser on agricultural markets of UCAB. – If somebody intends to invest in agriculture of Ukraine – it’s time to do it now as we find substantial growth of potential investors’ attention to Ukraine’s agribusiness companies.”

Concerning share prices of Ukrainian companies UCAB expect further up in price of Ukrainian agriholdings as food prices are recovering their growth in the world.
