Import of poultry meat and by-products has increased by almost 60%
Within two months of 2016, Ukraine has imported 11.58 ths t of poultry meat and its by-products that is by 58% more than similar indexes of the previous year. Near half of the imports composed products from Poland. The second place is taken by Germany with a share of 28.4%, and the third one is taken by the United Kingdom with a share of 6.2%. The average price for imports of these products was very low this year – 0.43 USD/kg.
Such growth in import of meat and poultry by-products occurred in result of using of the quota within the framework of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU amounting to 8 ths t, as well as increasing demand for cheap raw materials from meat processing enterprises to produce sausages.
